An artifact is a build of the FXServer program that runs your server. RedM servers use the same server artifacts as FiveM; only the game files differ. txAdmin ships inside the artifact.

Install or update#
- Download the recommended zip (link above) and extract it to an empty folder, for example
C:\RedM\server. - Run
FXServer.exe. txAdmin opens athttp://localhost:40120and guides you through the setup. - To update later: stop the server, replace everything in that folder except
server-data, start again.
- Download the Linux tarball (
fx.tar.xz) and extract it into an empty folder. - Start it with
./run.sh; txAdmin prints a PIN and a link in the console. - Update by extracting the new build over the old one and restarting.
Warning
Never run a server as administrator or root. Keep server-data (your resources and config) outside the artifact folder so updates never touch it.
Choosing a channel#
- Recommended for a live community: it changes rarely.
- Latest when you need a fix that is not in recommended yet. Test on a copy first.
- After every update check the console for deprecation warnings and run
refreshthenensureon your key resources.
